When I first moved to NM, I rented a small
apartment in Albuquerque.  I hungered for "Terrain
Therapy" and so would hike Sandia Mountain as
often as possible.  Once, when my children were
visiting, we got caught as a thunderstorm rolled in.
Torrential rains merely interrupted a beautiful day.
The sun shone before and after the storm.
Rabbit's medicine is "Have no fear."  Rabbit comes to
us frequently, but particularly when we are trying to
make a difficult decision.
Beautiful in both summer and winter,
this place, it's history, it's mission and
it's miracles always touch my heart.

One must go to Bosque del Apache in the fall
more than any other time of year.  The fall
colors of the wildlife sanctuary are as stunning
as any I have seen and at least as important to
my experience as the birds.
A trip to Bosque del Apache is an easy day trip from
Albuquerque.  This drawing is from the first time we
went.  I was taken with the extremely social behavior
of the Sandhill Cranes.
I have yet to see a roadrunner in the wild but I have
seen them in town.  They always surprise me by
how big and funny they are. This was drawn from a
photograph taken by a friend while golfing.
South Mountain is part of the San Pedro Mountain
range.  It is also the southernmost peak of the
Rockies, though it is more like the foothills of the
Sierras than what one usually thinks of as the
Rocky Mountains.

Raven Greets the Day
We see lots of clever crows and ravens.  When I
first saw them, I was amazed at their large size.
Early this morning, as we took our routine walk
with the dogs, Raven faced the sun and made a
raucous noise to greet the day.

Ladrone Mountains & Dunes
The dunes flanking the Ladrone Mountains
North of Soccoro remind me of my childhood
at the beach.  The awe-inspiring power of the
ocean is replaced by majestic mountains.

Mountain Like Spirit of Woman
The mountains of New Mexico speak to me in much the same
way as the Pacific Ocean of my childhood.
Mountain, like Spirit of
Woman is graceful, bold, strong, vibrant, resilient, nurturing, vital,
beautiful dynamic.
